Elena has more than 20 year experience in Structured Finance, mainly in Project Finance, executing transactions in Spain, Portugal, Mexico and the Caribbean.
As Head of Energy and Infrastructure in Banco Popular Español, she led a team of six people.
She was responsible for the asset management of up to Eur 2 billion of an Energy and Infrastructure Portfolio with more than 100 projects in Spain, Portugal, North America, Canadá, France and Germany. She was also in charge of the day-to-day credit management of the portfolio including restructurings and secondary sales.
In the Energy sector, in addition to transactions in gas distribution and gas storage, Elena was responsible for Origination, Financial Structuring, and Asset Management for over 5,000MW, in many type of renewables (Thermosolar, with/without storage, Photovoltaics, Wind and Hydro).
6 years at Union Fenosa and Union Fenosa International as responsible for financing Latin America Power Projects sponsored by Unión Fenosa. Acted as transaction leader for various transactions in Mexico including the $650 million Tuxpan III-IV Project and the $220 million Naco Nogales Project and the Caribbean.
6 years at Corporate Finance in Bankia. She originated, structured, negotiated and arranged a wide variety of domestic and international project finance transactions in the energy sector.
