Senior Management

Juan Carlos has over 20 years of experience in Investment Banking in London and Madrid executing transactions in UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Latin America with Enron (Structured Finance Group), Barclays Capital (Energy and Utilities team) and BNP Paribas (Energy and Infrastructure group).

As Managing Director and Head of Energy and Infrastructure for Iberia in BNP Paribas, he led a team of seven people. Juan Carlos was member of the Project Finance EMEA Business Committee, member of the Marketing Committee for CIB Spain and had Credit Delegation for Iberian Project Finance files.

He was responsible for the asset management of up to Eur 2 billion of an Energy and Infrastructure Portfolio with more than 70 projects. He was also in charge of the day-to- day credit management of the portfolio including restructurings and secondary sales.

Until 2017, Cosme was Head of Project Finance for Spain (Energy, Infra, Oil & Gas and other sectors) in Haitong Bank, which was the fomer Espirito Santo Investment Bank, he led a team of four people.

He has more than 10 years of experience in Investment Banking, executing transactions in Spain, Europe, and North America.

Cosme was responsible for Origination, Financial Structuring, Restructuring and Asset Management of many type of renewables (Thermosolar, with/without storage, Photovoltaics and Wind).

He was responsible for the asset management of up to Eur 0.7 billion of the Energy and Infrastructure Portfolio with more than 35 projects in Spain, North America, Canada and Greece. He was also in charge of the day-to-day credit management of the portfolio including restructurings and secondary sales.

Elena has more than 20 year experience in Structured Finance, mainly in Project Finance, executing transactions in Spain, Portugal, Mexico and the Caribbean.

As Head of Energy and Infrastructure in Banco Popular Español, she led a team of six people.

She was responsible for the asset management of up to Eur 2 billion of an Energy and Infrastructure Portfolio with more than 100 projects in Spain, Portugal, North America, Canada, France and Germany. She was also in charge of the day-to-day credit management of the portfolio including restructurings and secondary sales.

In the Energy sector, in addition to transactions in gas distribution and gas storage, Elena was responsible for Origination, Financial Structuring, and Asset Management of over 5,000MW in many type of renewables (Thermosolar, with/without storage, Photovoltaics, Wind and Hydro).

José María Fuentes is the Head of Financial Modelling and Analysis in AtZ. He has several years of experience building and analysing financial models for renewable energy projects, highways, hospitals and PPPs.

He has held positions for Novare (Financial Analyst, 2016) and Abengoa (Structured Finance Analyst, 2014-2016) and was responsible for the development and analysis of financial models for solar thermal power plants, photovoltaic, transmission lines, cogeneration, combined cycles, wind, biomass, pipelines and unique buildings in Spain and Latin America, both in bidding and non-bidding processes.

Jose María has a Bachelor Degree of Business Administration from the University of Seville and holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Management from Cajasol Business School.

Pablo is Associate Director in AtZ, leading and monitoring the different processes currently covered by AtZ Investment Partners in Europe, USA and Latin America Pablo coordinates and distributes the tasks of the AtZ analyst team in order to achieve results in the most agile way possible.

Pablo leads a team of 4 analysts and has collaborated directly in several M&A processes that have reached financial closing for more than 1.5GW. He also collaborates directly in the origination and establishment of relationships with various private and institutional investors who are in search of opportunities.

He is responsable for all the contact and follow up with StartUps and Growth companies that seek guidance in order to make the leap to the capital market “BME Growth”; through the program Entorno Pre Mercado “EpM” of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (“BME”) of which AtZ is a partner.

Pablo has a Law Degree from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and a Business Administration and Finance Degree from the Francisco de Vitoria University (Madrid). Furthermore, in 2021, he completed a specialisation in Renewable Energy Financing at IEB (Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles).
